Following Calls to Action made by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada in June 2015, the Federal Government proclaimed Truth and Reconciliation Day as Sept. 30, starting in 2021.

This day is a national day of commemoration to honour residential school Survivors and promote understanding of residential school history.

For Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples to coexist peacefully, a relationship must be built on understanding and respect.
