Position:  Finance Clerk

The Wolastoqey Nation in New Brunswick (WNNB) provides high-quality advice and technical support to New Brunswick’s six Wolastoqey communities on resource development matters that impact Aboriginal and Treaty Rights. Job Description: WNNB is looking for a dedicated individual to take on the role as full time Finance Clerk. Reporting to the Director of Finance the Finance Clerk will support the overall finance operations in the WNNB office.

Duties

  • Build close working relationships with the Senior Management and the entire Team at WNNB
  • Support the day-to-day financial operations
  • Prepare cheque requisitions
  • Reimburse travel claims
  • HST remittance
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements (support)
  • Support Employee payroll.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience / training with payroll and finance including familiarity with online banking
    (ETF/EMT payments)
  • Experience working with multiple funding sources
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience interacting with Community members, including elders and leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Knowledge and understanding of Wolastoqey culture and communities.

This position requires a high degree of confidentiality. The ability to produce a clear criminal record check will be required by the successful candidate. Applicants may not be holders of elected political office.

WNNB offers an attractive compensation and benefits plan. The salary range for this position is $45,000.00 – $55,000.00. Our office location is the Eqpahak Centre, Sitansisk (St. Mary’s First Nation), Fredericton, NB.
